England

Old friends, gorgeous verdent scenery, tea, castles, dark chocolate covered Hobnobs, driving on the left, and tacky beach resorts...  Jolly Ole England, we have arrived!

We spent two weeks in England - originally planning to visit four sets of friends (that I'd met on previous trips to Africa, Kyrgyztan, Tibet and Patagonia.) Unfortunately, our schedules didn't jive with two of them, but we still got to spend time with Ant, Sara & Zoe as well as Jane (who I hadn't seen in 16 years!!)  We stayed north - visiting Shepley, the Yorkshire Dales, Manchester, the Peaks District and the Lakes District (with a stop at Warwick Castle on the way to the airport.) Oh yea, and a day in the incredibly tacky, kitschy, but fun Blackpool (and more roller coasters!)  We had a rental car which Zavion christened 'Black Thunder Black Lightning' and had fun exploring the quiant villages and picturesque side roads. Other than one ill-timed flat tire, we did well and enjoyed ourselves.

I apologize for the lack of captions and descriptions, but I just wanted to get something posted. Perhaps I'll have time in the next couple of days to edit and updtate this page. Or perhaps not...
